"I've got a guy on my staff who got hit in the head with a glass door Thursday. His forehead wouldn't stop bleeding, but he wouldn't go to a doctor 'cause I got another guy who got beat up covering Cairo. And the first guy wouldn't see a doctor until the second guy saw a doctor. I've got a producer who ran into a locked door 'cause he felt responsible for the second guy. I've got an 18-year-old kid risking his life halfway around the world, and the AP who sent him there hasn't slept in three days. I've got 20-somethings who care about teachers in Wisconsin. I've got a grown woman who has to subtract with her fingers staying up all night trying to learn economics from a PhD who could be making 20 times the money three miles downtown. "They're journalists." I have no idea what it's like to have an employer who has my back like this.
For all the yelling that happens in the newsroom, it's the quiet ones that hit me the deepest. This speech, ACNGage, Sloan's confession to Don, and Neil returning leave you on baited breath.
Loved that last bit best, _"I'm just a middle-aged man who never lived up to his potential. You don't want to be at the wrong end of me if I ever do."_ As a middle-aged man who didn't live up to his potential I so feel that.
This beautiful woman has so much talent in her.
I’m going to make a meal out of you and I won’t stop until I’m done….. the delivery and the finality of it all is perfection… Jeff Daniels is phenomenal
I have know idea how these two got together after this. He full out threatened her. There is no way they became a couple after she blackmailed him.
Later: "Did you give him the bat? Did he like it?" "I don't know. It was hard to tell from the way he was shoving it up my a$$!" LOL
Incredible scene.
the amount of times this show was Therapy to me, and this scene was session one for me. I remember this line hitting too close too home when i first saw it.
Still better than any of the crap they come up with today.
He might have been in the Navy. Maybe. That character would not have been in the Marines.
It makes me so mad that this show never got the critical recognition it deserved, and makes me wonder what on earth those hack reviewers were watching. This show is brilliant.
불가능. 말하기. 윌 맥어보이.
"life's a bitch." "and where you're going, that's exactly what you'll be."
I love you Matthew ❤ ❤
i think that out of the 9000 views about 1000 of them have been me. i wish we could get a studio quality recording of this arrangement. gives me chills every time
Jeff Daniels may claim that his first episode speech win him the Emmy, but this scene sealed it.
I Have probably watch this scene so many times.... its still really funny to me
What is funny in it? It's quite a dramatic scene about their unresolved feelings for each other.
Will should've done this entire scene with his dick and balls hanging out of his pants, but not acknowledge it in any way, as a sign of dominance. Would've fit the tone of the scene perfectly.
Will lied here. He didn't hire Mack to be his EP. It was Charlie who did that.
Here we are again folks. They passed the one sentence bill
This is my favorite takedown because it showed how much Will cared for his people. And all of the times he was yelling and screaming and carrying on, he was poised borderline, polite and downright scary all without raising his voice
Incredible wow, haven’t heard this version yet and it’s lovely
That “yes please” at the end cracks me up every time.
Lawrence O'Donnell referenced this scene the other night on The Last Word. I'd forgotten that this was the first time I'd heard of the Debt Ceiling before.
The New York Times newsletter brought me here.
What the hell’s a “blackberry”?
Very first androids. I miss them. Keyboard included
"Nah, Im just a middle aged man that never lived up to his potential, and you dont want to be on the wrong side of me if I ever do."
Even Charlie's eyebrows are acting! Love this scene 💙
I miss this show so much. Jeff Daniel's doesn't the credit he deserves. Such a good scene
One of best shows on TV
This is the best scene in the whole show. Love that he stands up for his staff. A true leader
What a fucking dumb show lmao.. how the fuck takes this shit seriously
WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE THIS WHOM WE CAN RELAY ON. BUT BOY WHAT A LUXURY THAT IS!
"Look at me...and see that I'm dead serious." "I'm just a middle-aged man that never lived up to his potential. You don't wanna be on the wrong end of me if I ever do." Boy was cold in this scene
Ever since learning of this show a couple years back, I haven't been able to watch episodes of Law & Order in the same way
This was really well acted. ✔
I love how Bateman threw in his signature wink.
❤
Damn...
7:03 goosebumps, thank you for this video <3
Charlie: “Will?” Will: “What?” Charlie: “When was the last time you saw her?” Will: “I dunno, about three years ago.” Charlie: “COINCIDENTALLY, THAT’S THE LAST TIME YOU WERE A NICE GUY.” **Will walks out in a huff Waitress: “Would you like another, Mr. Skinner?” Charlie: **incredibly polite** “Yes, please.”
That old man would fall down if you pushed him gently.
Who are the 40 dislikes from
"Tough ass speech.......but you won't win" "Ah, doesn't matter. I'm just a middle aged guy who never lived up to his potential...........you don't want to be on the wrong end of me if I ever do" Perfectly done parting shot. 😁😎
I didn't know they hired one of the chipettes for the west wing.
975 likes, and 36 phone hacks by Nina and Sloane.
Why Sloan?
She’s so slimy in her smugness. And you can feel Will’s subdued rage when she calls herself a “Journalist” a name Will knows in his heart of hearts she never earned!
Exactly!
Journalists are propagandists, all of them. And most are stupid.
Will is trying to be civil, and all Nina does is act like an entitled bitch. There is a narcissist in the room.... but it's not Will.
"You don't want to be on the wrong end of me if I ever do."
God 1:50 has to be my favorite moment, it just feels and sounds like he’ll puke from disgust
